When I first started my business I had a goal of creating websites that would help boaters restore the boats they owned rather than buying new ones. With that focus in mind we have become the largest supplier of boat carpet, boat seats and pontoon accessories in the country through our network of websites and it all began with PontoonStuff.com ......
Our Story
My father and I were working with a local marina during their open house. We were trying to explain to one of their customers why restoring his used boat was a good idea. I remember him telling me that for the price of buying new furniture and replacing his carpet he could buy a new boat; then he laughed and walked away. That was the moment PontoonStuff.com was born.
In 2004 I began selling pontoon furniture on eBay in the hopes of making an additional income and I was determined to prove that guy wrong. Restoring your boat should be a lot cheaper than buying a new one and I was going to find a way to give customers the product they needed at a reasonable price.
I spent hours every day cutting down boxes that were too large so that we could ship our pontoon furniture UPS Ground instead of with a truck line, to save our customers money. I took my savings and had a part time web designer build our first website and I spent every waking moment learning about the internet and how to make my site rank with the search engines. We redesigned seats, changed boxes and worked with the shipping companies so that we could offer furniture with free shipping.
I remember answering phones all day and shipping boxes all night just to keep up, it was the most fun I had ever had but I knew I was going to need some help. We grew so quickly that after our second year we built our current 30,000 square foot distribution and call center. Since the beginning I have been fortunate enough to be surrounded by the finest employees who have helped build PontoonStuff into the largest retailer of pontoon furniture & accessories in the country. We sell products to more than 25,000 customers every year and thanks to you, our business continues to grow.
